BENGALURU: Karnataka leggie Pravin Dubey has been picked by Delhi Capitals as a replacement for seasoned spinner Amit Mishra, who was laid low by a flexor tendon injury to the ring finger while attempting a catch against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Dubey, who made his first-class debut for the state earlier this year, came into focus in 2016. Even before he made it to the state team, he caught the attention of RCB talent scouts at the 2015 Karnataka Premier League. The following year, he was bought for Rs 35 lakh by the Bengaluru-based franchise. After spending two seasons with RCB, he was released and hadn't found any takers since.
This season, Dubey was disappointed at not being picked despite a good limited overs domestic season. When he was called up to bowl at the nets, he had told TOI: "I'm happy because it gives me an opportunity to showcase my talent."
Although Delhi have spinners like R Ashwin, Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav in the squad, they have decided to add another spinner to their line-up.
