Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Richard Marles, is set to travel to Ahmedabad to witness the highly anticipated summit clash between India and Australia in the ODI World Cup on Sunday. Accompanying him will be Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and together, they will be in India to co-chair the second edition of the "2+2" ministerial dialogue with their Indian counterparts on Monday.

The Defence Ministry announced on Saturday that Marles' two-day visit from November 19-20 is primarily for the "2+2" dialogue, aimed at enhancing overall defense and strategic ties between the two nations. The dialogue is expected to address various aspects of bilateral cooperation.

In addition to the diplomatic discussions, Marles will take the opportunity to attend the World Cup final between India and Australia on Sunday, highlighting the multifaceted nature of the visit that combines both diplomatic and sporting engagements.
"Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence Richard Marles will visit India from November 19 to 20 to co-chair the second India-Australia 2+2 ministerial dialogue with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh," the ministry said in a statement.

"During his visit, Minister Marles will also attend the Cricket World Cup final between India and Australia in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on November 19," the statement added.
