Bhanu Saptami 2024: Bhanu Saptami is one of the most auspicious day. This day is dedicated to worship Lord Surya or the Sun God. Who is Lord Surya?

As per Hindu Scriptures, Lord Surya was born to Sage Kashyap and his wife Aditi on the day of Bhanu Saptami that's why people celebrated this day is his birth anniversary. The day is celebrated by his devotees with great reverence and devotion. Lord Sun is depicted as riding on a chariot drawn by seven horses. The seven horses represents the seven colours of a rainbow. He is considered as the source of Gayatri Mantra and this mantra is known to be the most powerful mantra.

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. Some people visit the Ganga river to take a bath.
3. Offer Arghya to Lord Surya.
4. Chant various Surya Mantra to invoke the deity.
5. Many people chant Gayatri Mantra to seek the blessings of the Lord.
6. Offer red flowers, and other offerings to please the Lord.
7. Some devotees also observe fast for the well being and good health.
