Still early days to measure the magnitude of corona in India
The recent sharp surge in cases of corona in last few days in India was quite inevitable as we are heading towards the fourteen days mark which is generally considered as the incubation period of this disease to make its presence felt by causing all sorts of respiratory problems in humans . The government of India to shelter peope from disruption happenings in their own country as witnessed in Italy and other European countries decided to take the bull by the horns to address this issue of covid 19 at the earliest by enforcing the biggest lockdown in the history of the world. No wonder, sars- covid 19 has taken the world by the storm and has virtually left top bureaucrats of the so called superpower nations of the world in dismay who just couldnt believe as to how this virus could cause such devastation to their peope . Having said that although , top officials in India acted swifly as well as smartly but still the numbers of patients that are coming are alarming because this really have set the cat amongst the pigeons especially amongst state governments as each state is continuously looking to protect its citizens. As we enter the last leg of the lockdown, i still believe there will not be conclusive evidence as to where we stand since the saturation point is not going to be attained by April 14 . Since , we have not attained that peak stage, the speculation based news will do the bulk of rounds and will arouse curiosity amongst the concerned readers who are just keeping an eagle’s eye on this pressing issue. I believe the further news on extending the tenure of the deadlock should be treated as a mere formality as government knows one wrong move could pave way to destruction, which all of us dont want. Despite all this, one big question remains ,governments are doing their every bit to protect us , but are we all doing enough to bail ourselves from the shackles of covid19. The countrymens resilience and courage was exemplary in the initial days of the lockdown but somehow the zeal has dropped just tad a little in the past few days, which could further add to the misery of the health officials. The key here is to remain vigilant and the ones who have the virtue of patience up their sleeves would be the ones who will be able to sail their boats in this torrid times . And just when I am about to end this artcle, I have been informed that deaths in India have completed the milestone of 3 digits mark.
