Rail Budget 2013: Railways to restore some of trains cancelled earlier

LUCKNOW: Railways will restore the trains that were cancelled due to fog in the winter months by February end. The cancelled trains were to resume operation by February 15, but then railways extended the cancellation by a month. Train number 15011 Lucknow Jn– Chandigarh Express was earlier announced to remain cancelled from December 28, 2012 to March 15 will now be restored from Lucknow Jn from February 26.In the return direction, train number 15012 will be restored from Chandigarh from February 27.
The other train which will be restored is train number 14212 New Delhi–Agra Cantt Intercity Express which was to remain cancelled from December 28, 2012 to March 15, but will now be restored from New Delhi from February 26. In the return direction, train number 14211 will be restored from Agra Cantt from February 27.
It was to meet the requirement of spare coaches in Kumbh that railways had extended the cancellation of about 14 pair of trains till March 17. The railways, however, had cited operational reasons and the prevailing fog as the reason behind the extension of cancellation of trains. While, railways have decided to resume two of the cancelled trains, the others might resume their run only after March 15.
The trains 13039/13040 Howrah-Delhi Janta Express will start operation after March 15/17. Similarly, 12873/12874 Jharkhand SJ Express, 14005/14006 Sitamarhi-Anand Vihar Licchavi Express, 14309/14310 Ujjain-Dehradun Ujjaini Express, 14043/14044 Kotdwar-Delhi Garhwal Express, 14211/14212 Agra-New Delhi Intercity and 14681/14682 New Delhi-Jalandhar Express will also start running after March 15.
The partial cancellation of trains 13111/13112 Kolkata-Delhi Lal Quila Express, 13007/13008 Howrah-Sriganganagar Toofan Express and 15003/15004 Anwarganj-Gorakhpur Chauri Chaura Express will also continue till March 15/17. The diversion of trains 13237/13238/13239/13240 Patna-Kota Express will also continue till March 15/16.
