NAGAPATTINAM: Railway ministry should allocate Rs 300 crore in this year's railway
budget for the long-pending Mayilduthurai-Tarangambadi broadgauge line laying work, BJP natinal council member K Rajendran said today.
The previous MG line dismantled in the 1990s had not yet been converted as BG line, he told reporters at Mayiladuthurai.
Urging the railway ministry to recognize the tourism potential of the area and needs of the people, he said if the work was not taken up the BJP would move the court.
