Planning an international trip this summer comes with a slightly different checklist this year. While weather and budget are still prime considerations for any international tourist, this year geopolitical stability and flight routes are also high on the list. On a positive note, there are many international destinations that are not just geographically removed from any conflict zone but also provide a seamless experience and a hassle-free visa process for Indian passport holders.
Here’s a curated list of safe countries to visit this summer.

One of the most efficient and safest nations in the world, Japan is a beautiful mix of the traditional and the modern. Japan is a lively destination in the summer with various colorful festivals and fireworks displays. It is also green and beautiful. In the summer, destinations like Hokkaido provide a respite from the sun. Japan has excellent connectivity with very efficient transport systems, making it easy for first-time travelers to get around.
Visa for Indians: Tourist Visa (sticker visa / limited e-visa availability) would take 5-7 working days.

Canada is perfect for those in search of space, nature, and tranquillity. From the breathtaking scenery of Banff National Park to the dynamic cities of Vancouver and Toronto, Canada has all to offer. It ranks consistently in terms of safety, hygiene, and quality of life, making it a hassle-free destination.
Visa for Indians: Visitor visa or Temporary Resident Visa will take 3 to 6 weeks. Note that biometrics are required. It is advisable to apply in advance as the timing may vary

If you are looking for a peaceful and naturally beautiful destination, New Zealand would be a great choice. Although it would be winter in New Zealand at the time of our Indian summer, it would be a great time to visit New Zealand if you want snowfall and a quiet trip with a road trip.
Visa for Indians: For Indians, the processing of the visitor visa would take 3-5 weeks. The application princess is fully online. Strong documentation like funds and travel plans will be needed.

Portugal would be a great destination if you are looking for a relaxed trip in a safe destination in Europe. Portugal has a lot to offer in the way of culture, food, and beauty, without the crowds that exist in popular European destinations.
Visa for Indians: Indians would be eligible for the Schengen visa for Portugal. The processing of the visa would take 15 days, but it could be longer, up to 30-60 days in peak season.
