Taj Mahal, Agra

The Taj Mahal has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is an iconic white marble monument located in India. This white marble monument was constructed by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a token of love for his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal has intricate inlay work and beautiful lush green gardens that enhance the beauty of the monument. Dilwara Temples, Mount Abu

The Dilwara Temples are famous Jain temples located in the Sirohi District of the only hill station of Rajasthan. These temples date back to the 11th and 16th centuries and are built in the style of Solanki architecture. The five Dilwara Temples are regarded as the most impressive among Jain temples in Rajasthan, and all of them are made with white marble and have great intricate carvings on them. These temples are the perfect combination of architectural marvels and spiritual heritage.

Jaswant Thada, Jodhpur

A cenotaph located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was built out of intricately carved sheets of Makrana marble which, when hit with the rays of the sun, glow even more beautifully. This monument has carved gazebos and a tiered garden along with a small lake. This white marble monument was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. Adding to the beauty of the Jaswant Thada is that it is surrounded by a tranquil lake, and the reflections of the lake make it look like it’s floating.

Haji Ali Dargah, Mumbai

Haji Ali Dargah is a Sufi shrine as well as a monument of Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, located on an islet in southern Mumbai in Maharashtra. This is a stunning example of Indo-Islamic architecture, and the dargah contains the tomb of Haji Ali Shah Bukhari too. Haji Ali Dargah has a whitewashed structure with a marble courtyard and marble pillars with artistic mirror work. The dargah is accessible via a causeway during low tide and is visited by people of all faiths, symbolizing Mumbai’s cultural harmony and spiritual significance.

Bibi Ka Maqbara, Aurangabad

Bibi Ka Maqbara is a tomb located in the Aurangabad city of Maharashtra and is a principal monument here. It resembles the iconic white beauty, the Taj Mahal. The marble for this mausoleum was brought from mines near Jaipur and it is built in a Charbagh garden style. The mausoleum is crowned by a dome with lattice work and accompanying panels decorated with flower designs. Bibi Ka Maqbara is often called the “Taj of the Deccan.”
