Utpal Dutt, primarily known for his work in Bengali theatre, commenced his career in English theatre. In the 1940s, he founded "The Shakespeareans," capturing audiences with powerful productions. His journey included significant collaborations with the "Shakespeareana Theatre Company," showcasing his passionate portrayal of Othello. Dutt's influence extended beyond the stage, as he played a pivotal role in the Group Theatre movement and explored "Epic Theatre," inspired by Bertolt Brecht.
