Starting something new can be intimidating and leads to anxieties. If you have set your mind on commencing a new journey in yoga, don't let your doubts get in your way. Here's a list of a few tips that yoga teacher Shruti Shah shares that you can take instead and strengthen your will.

Find out the right class

Finding out the right class is the first and most important step in your journey ahead. While looking out for a yoga class, keep in my mind to search for a beginner-friendly class in your neighbourhood. Beginner-friendly classes will help you adjust to this new lifestyle easily and efficiently. There are also many types of yoga so pick the kind you find yourself interested in.

Be consistent

Consistency is the key to achievement. After enrolling in a yoga class, remember to be consistent. Your body may resist the exercise and movement but know that it's only the initial inertia that's urging you to stop. Once you get into a habit, you'll feel more comfortable and tempted to continue. You'll enjoy it too.

Find a good teacher

Before you commit to any instructor, make efforts to find yourself a reliable one that you're comfortable with. It's important that you feel at ease and eager every time you've to attend the class. You can try out some demo classes and talk to the trainer before you enrol yourself for good.

Continue at home

Practice makes a man perfect. Once you reach back to your home, remember to continue practising the asanas and poses you learned earlier.

Find your yoga buddy

Befriending someone in your class will help both of you to be motivated and enthusiastic about yoga. You can share your challenges throughout the journey and keep account of each other's feats.
