Global partnerships grow as LSR signs MoU with University of Queensland
A high-level delegation from the University of Queensland, Australia, on its first day of visit to New Delhi, signed an MoU with Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi on 25 May 2026. The delegation led by the Chancellor, Peter Varghese AO and President & Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Deborah Terry AC was welcomed by the Principal of LSR, Prof. Kanika K. Ahuja, in the college premises.
The MoU covers collaboration in areas such as academic exchanges, reciprocal short-term student visits, joint workshops, development of potential recognition of prior learning pathways, and opportunities for study abroad. Faculty research collaborations and co-supervision of research dissertations and academic projects were also discussed. A collaboration with the University of Queensland, ranked 42nd globally in the QS rankings, marks a momentous milestone for Lady Shri for Women in furthering its global footprint.
Prof. Kanika K. Ahuja hailed the collaboration between the two institutions on academic and ideas exchange as "promising" and a testimony to the institution’s unrelenting commitment to quality and integrity, compliant with global standards. The partnership seeks to cooperate on developing potential in joint academic and research collaborations, workshops and ideas exchange in an ever-growing interconnected world.
Accompanying the two were Brett Lovegrove, Pro VC, Global Partnerships, Prof. Liesl Folks, Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and IT, Prof. Melissa Brown, Exec. Dean, Faculty of Science, Prof. Mathew Morell, Director, Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation and Ashwin Sreekumar, Principal Advisor, Marketing and Partnerships, Global Strategy.

Terming the MoU a "productive collaboration and appreciation of the commendable work LSR College does," Varghese congratulated the college for consistently maintaining its excellence and brand value. Applauding LSR as "an impressive college," Prof. Terry reiterated the need to work together for academic excellence and community outreach. Prof Terry was especially appreciative of the community outreach and entrepreneurial spirit shown by students of the college in various projects and hoped that students of University of Queensland could visit LSR and participate in such projects and learn the value of giving back to the community.Prof. Kanika K.
