Lord Shiva is often shown as a meditating ascetic. With a crescent moon on his head and a serpent around his neck. Lord Shiva is the one related to the cycles of creation, preservation, and destruction. In the Hindu trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, Lord Shiva or Mahesh is the destroyer. His power, his meditative state, his peaceful demeanour, it is all so attractive yet terrifying.
