Thinking of getting Past Life Regression done? Here are some must-know facts about the therapy

Past Life Regression or PLR, is a therapy where individuals are, in a semi-conscious state, taken back to their past life, to help them resolve some unsolved trauma from then. It could be an unexplained fear, a recurring problem, or just to get some closure to something that has been bothering them for years. While PLR is not backed by science (since it does not believe in reincarnation), it is said to have been beneficial for individuals earlier struggling to clear some past blockages of life. Here are some facts of PLR you should know...

2/6

What exactly is the procedure?

Through the help of hypnosis, an individual is taken to his/her past life, seeking to understand the roots of current challenges or recurring patterns. A trained practitioner helps the client enter a relaxed state, allowing access to subconscious memories and experiences that may be related to past lives. The past life, it is said could even be a 100 or 500 years old!

3/6

How does it help?

Some believe that exploring past lives can offer insights into current life issues, promote healing, and foster a deeper understanding of oneself. For example, if someone has an unexplained fear of fire, even though they have never had a close encounter with it, then a peek into one's past life could answer some questions. These could be death in a fire in a past life, or seeing someone close die.

4/6

Not backed by Science

However, even though PLR is gaining immense popularity everywhere, it is not backed by science and does not offer any scientific proof that it helps any individual in any capacity. Hence it is considered a pseudoscientific approach, and one that is not backed by any form or data, research, or result oriented numbers.

5/6

Should you go for PLR?

PLR might offer you supportive support, rather than definitive help for your issues. However, before undergoing PLR, you should keep in mind the emotional and mental aspects of going through a therapy like this, and exploring your subconscious. This apart, you are likely to retain some 'hazy' memories of the experience, though they are unlikely to bother you too much. Lastly, make sure you take the services of a trusted, and well-learned practitioner for the therapy.

6/6

Is it for everyone?

No, PLR is not for everyone, and might or might not help. Healing therapies like PLR are largely faith based, with your mind creating some narratives during the experience, and is likely to only work if deep down, your subconscious mind wants them to work. If you are a non-believer, then you might not find PLR effective. Hence, before going for it, do your research, and only then take an informed decision.
