The seven chakras that influence your life; know what role they play

Ever wondered what chakras in the body are? Chakras are said to be energy centers in the body that influence our overall physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. There are seven main chakras, each located along the spine, from its base to the top of the head. When properly balanced, these chakras are said to allow energy to flow freely, promoting harmony in the body and mind, and preventing us from many ailments, while keeping our mody and mind aligned to each other. Let us learn a little about each chakra, and how they influence our overall well-being....

2/8

Root Chakra (Muladhara)

Located at the base of the spine, this chakra is Red in color. The root chakra is associated with humility, and staying grounded to nature, while keeping your roots intact. It keeps you connected to the Earth, and takes care of basic needs like food, home, and safety. When balanced in the body, it provides a sense of security and stability. A blocked root on the other hand, can lead to fear or insecurity.

3/8

Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)

Located below the navel in the lower abdomen, this chakra is orange in color. The sacral chakra is linked to high creativity, emotions, feelings and close relationships. This chakra masters pleasure, passion, and intimacy. A balanced sacral chakra helps you embrace your emotions and enjoy life to the fullest, making you creative, and upbeat. Imbalance, on the other hand, can lead to emotional instability or a feeling of getting stuck in a rut.

4/8

Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)

Located in the upper abdomen near the stomach, this chakra is yellow in color. This chakra rules your personal standing, confidence, and self-esteem. It helps you make important decisions, and take control of your life, while also helping your achieve professional success. A healthy solar plexus chakra promotes inner strength and determination, while a blocked one can cause feelings of helplessness or low self-worth, that can lead to mental health issues later on in life.

5/8

Heart Chakra (Anahata)

Located at the center of the chest, this chakra is green in color. As its name suggests, the heart chakra represents love, compassion, and connection with loved ones. It allows you to give and receive love unconditionally, while also balancing all relationships in your life. When balanced, it promotes harmony and love in relationships and emotional healing. A blockage can result in feelings of loneliness or resentment, and even childhood traumas, that can manifest in different ways.

6/8

Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)

Located in the throat, this chakra is blue in color. The throat chakra is responsible for self-expression and communication, and how you perceive others around you, as individuals. It helps you speak your truth clearly and confidently, while listening to others empathetically. A balanced throat chakra promotes clear communication, while imbalance may cause difficulty in expressing yourself, resulting in fear of judgement, which can manifest itself as loneliness later on.

7/8

Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)

Located between the eyebrows, this chakra is indigo in color. Considered to be the spiritual point of the body, the third eye chakra governs all our deep thoughts, intuition, imagination, and spiritual insight. It helps you see beyond the physical reality of things, and deeply connects you with your inner wisdom. A balanced third eye chakra enhances clarity and vision for life’s purpose, while a blockage may lead to confusion, or a complete lack of focus, affecting all areas of your life.

8/8

Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)

Located at the top of the head, this chakra is violet or white in color. This chakra represents spirituality and enlightenment. It connects you to a higher consciousness and universal energy that is present all around us. A balanced crown chakra fosters peace within yourself, and those around you. When blocked, it may cause disconnection or frustration or inner turmoil.
