Zeus

When we talk about one of the most famous and powerful Gods, Zeus surely takes the first spot. Zeus, the mighty god of the sky and thunder is often depicted carrying a thunderbolt. Zeus is the supreme ruler, enforcing justice and maintaining order. He is the father of gods and mortals, and his influence and power extend over the affairs of both. There are many beliefs and legends about his tales, filled with exploits and affairs, making him a central figure in Greek mythology.

Poseidon is regarded as the brother of Zeus, and he commands the vast and turbulent space of the oceans and seas. His trident, which is a symbol of power, is known to have the ability to stir up storms or calm the waves, all at his will. Poseidon is often depicted riding a chariot drawn by sea creatures, and his dominion and power extend over all aquatic life. In ancient times and even today, sailors, and people who have coastal jobs, worship Poseidon to have his blessings and to ensure safe voyages in the turbulent seas.

In a very crooked way, Hera is both the wife and sister of the all-powerful Zeus. She has the spot and the role of the queen among the gods. As the goddess of marriage and childbirth, Hera is known to ensure the purity of mortal unions (marriage, relationships) and she is believed to protect women during childbirth. However, the stories related to Hera also at times portray her as a strong, vengeful goddess, especially when she was responding to Zeus's numerous infidelities. Known for his joyous and carefree nature, Dionysus is said to represent the effects of wine, liberating and casual. Dionysus is said to hold a unique place among the gods, as he is the only one to be born of a mortal mother. It is also said that he was among the last Gods to reach Mount Olympus.
