What's at the end?

One of the biggest questions that people wish to answer and are currently looking for is ‘How will the world come to an end?’ Will it be hellfire, will dinosaurs come back and eat up all humans, will God come back to Earth and eliminate the ones who did wrong, there are ‘n’ number of theories and beliefs.
Different religions have their own interpretations and beliefs about the end of the world, and here we mention some of them.

2/6

Christianity

For Christians, the end of the world comes with the day of Judgement, also called the ‘Second Coming’. According to the ‘end of the world’ Christian theory, the world will end with the return of Jesus Christ, and there will be a judgement of the lives people lived, good or bad. There will be trials, and sufferings, and both the righteous and the wicked will be resurrected. The righteous will head to heaven, and the evil ones will face the wrath of judgement.

Islam

In Islam, the end of the world comes with the ‘Qayamat’ or ‘Qiyamah’, the ‘Day of Judgement’. And there are many different incidents and events that will lead up to the day of Qiyamah. It is said that before the day of Judgement the world will see a moral decline, dishonesty will prevail, and conflicts will increase all around the world. And then once again, all souls will be resurrected, and Allah will judge every person according to their deeds. People will receive either reward (Jannah) or punishment (Jahannam).

4/6

Hinduism

In Hinduism, the end of the world is not a one-time event but an ongoing cycle of creation. The world started with Satyug, and the current Kaliyug is said to be the worst of all ages. From honesty, morality, love, and brotherhood, the world moved to Kaliyug, an era of darkness, dishonesty, moral degeneration, and all things negative. Hindu texts say that this age will end when the deity Kalki, the final avatar of Vishnu, appears to cleanse the world of evil and restore Dharma.

5/6

Buddhism

Similar to Hinduism, Buddhism doesn’t focus on an ‘end of the world’, but has the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth of the ‘samsara’. According to Buddhist teachings, all things, including the world itself, are impermanent and will eventually change and decay. But, when the world starts to end the era of its moral decay and enters complete falsehood, and when the knowledge of the 4 noble truths is completely vanished, a future Buddha, Maitreya, will appear on Earth and spread the word of Buddha again, enlightening the world with his knowledge and wisdom.

6/6

Zoroastrianism

One of the world’s oldest religions, Zoroastrianism believes in the end of the world with a purification by Ahura Mazda (the supreme God and saviour). It is believed that the evil forces and the men of God will engage in a battle that will end with Ahura Mazda’s army finishing evil off the face of Earth. This battle will cleanse the world of all sin and corruption. The righteous will be given a place in paradise, and the evil will face purification through fire, and the world will be made immortal.
