Indian temples and the many miracles

Temples of India have forever been looked up to for their remarkable and at times mysterious capabilities. The miracles, mysteries, healings and the likes make Indian temples alluring to not just people here but also abroad. These sacred places are not only symbols of religious significance but also the home to many phenomena that cannot be easily explained and at times even science cannot pinpoint what exactly it is!
And the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple stands as a prime example of such marvels, where the ordinary laws of nature seem to bend, leaving visitors in awe of its divine presence.

The mysterious idol

At the heart of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple lies the idol of Lord Venkateswara, also known as Lord Balaji, adorned with jewels and worshipped wholeheartedly by devotees. Legend has it that the idol has mystical and mysterious powers and the aura surrounding the idol is divine.

The miracle

One of the most awe-worthy things at the temple is the fact that when hot water Abhishekam is performed, the head remains hot but the feet of the idol are cold. That is, when the priest or the devotee pour hot, boiling water over the idol, once the water reaches the deity’s feet it is cold as ice. But, it is also noteworthy that while the feet and the water near the feet turn cold, the head of the idol is still hot to touch.

Another catch

Adding to the mystery of the deity and the idol is the story that when water is poured directly from the navel of the idol, it remains hot when touched, and it is only when the water is poured over his head, does it turn cold when reaching his feet.

What do non-believers think?

There are people who wholeheartedly believe in the legend and the miracle powers of the deity, there are some others who try to make sense of it all. There are numerous speculations that say that the phenomenon of the water turning cold is not a miracle but rather an attribute of the stone that the idol of the deity is carved with!
Some people believe that the idol is crafted from a special type of stone that has unique properties that enable it to influence the temperature of the surrounding environment.
