What is Budhwa Mangal?

Bada Mangal, or Budhwa Mangal, are the 5 most powerful Tuesdays that fall in the Hindu month of Jyeshtha. It is said that these 4-5 Tuesdays are extremely auspicious, strong, positive, and have a ton of energy that devotees of Lord Hanuman can harness.
And so, during the 5 Tuesdays of Bada Mangal, devotees visit temples of Lord Hanuman, perform Hanuman Chalisa and Sundarkand paath, and even engage in donation and charity.

Bada Mangal in 2025

In 2025, there were 5 Budhwa Mangals, starting with May 13. Then, it was on May 20, then May 27, then June 3, and the final one will be on June 10.
Unlike many other festivals, days, and occurrences, Bada Mangal does not have a Parana time, a shubh muhurat, or the likes. But, as Lord Hanuman is considered to be one of the most disciplined, devotees wake up on time to perform their duties.

Why is the Last Bada Mangal special?

On June 10, devotees will celebrate the last Budhwa Mangal of this year. And so, just like the first Bada Mangal, the last one will also be extremely powerful and pure, perfect for people to connect with the energies of Lord Hanuman.
Temples will see large gatherings of people, and there will be bhandaras and langars around the city. Some people believe that Lord Hanuman is very close to Earth and his devotees during this month, and as it is the last day before Lord Hanuman goes back into his meditation, they wish to connect with him on a deeper level.

Worshipping Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman is the deity who is worshipped on Tuesday and Saturday, and during the Budhwa Mangal time, his energy around his devotees is said to be at its highest. He is the epitome of strength, love, selfless service, discipline, and more, and so devotees try to emulate the same qualities in themselves to honour him and receive his blessings.
They wake up early, take a bath, and then set up their Puja room with Lord Hanuman’s picture or idol. It is also advised to wear red or saffron coloured clothes on this day as these are considered to be dear to Lord Hanuman.

5/6

Rituals to follow on Bada Mangal

On Bada Mangal, devotees do not need to follow any elaborate rituals to please Lord Hanuman. In fact, it is said that a devotee who is loyal to themselves and Lord Hanuman all the time, receives his blessings throughout the time.
But some rituals that people follow are worship, fasting, donation, and visiting a temple. People wake up early and start their day with puja. They chant the Hanuman Chalisa, the mantra ‘Om Hanumate Namah’, or another mantra, and try to fast on the day to show Lord Hanuman their resolve.
They also offer prasad like boondi, motichoor laddoo, coconut, bananas, and the likes.

6/6

What to do on the last Bada Mangal?

If you wish to make the most of the last Bada Mangal, which is on June 10, the first thing to do is to stay disciplined through the day (and the days ahead), and request Lord Hanuman to look over you and protect you. Stay true to yourself, to the Gods, and take the name of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman whenever possible.
Visit the temple of Lord Hanuman that is close to you or the ancient one where you always wanted to, and don’t ask Lord Hanuman for anything, but rather just show your gratitude for everything he has given you and done for you.
