How to break these addictions

Most people don’t realize that the things holding you back are not always big. It’s the small habits you repeat every day that keep you stuck. And in the long run, these habits become the biggest hurdles that restrict your growth as a human. It is very important to analyze and identify these habits before they become an addiction. From comparison to quitting, complaining to waiting for the “perfect” moment, the list goes on and on, and they steal your energy and stop you from growing. What you see and who you follow online matters too. Here we have curated a list of 7 addictions one should break and the following remedy to become one's best self in the long run.

2/8

Comparison

Comparison often leads to rushed goals, dissatisfaction with life, and feeling of inadequacy. Comparison will suck the joy out of your life if you let it.
Try this: Add a simple gratitude practice to your morning/evening routine.

3/8

Quitting

The only way to guarantee failure is to quit. Simply staying in the game long enough will put you ahead of most people.
Try this: It is suggested to commit to something and give your friend $100. If you quit, they keep the money.

4/8

Your phone

What you see daily shapes you. Your feed trains your brain each day. If you scroll through drama all day, your mind starts to think in terms of drama. When you fill your feed with useful content, you grow.

5/8

Comfort

The comfort zone is where dreams go to die. You don't need to jump off a cliff. But you do need to get yourself a little closer to the edge.
Try this: Use the 85% rule. Learning is optimised when we get things right about 85% of the time.

6/8

Procrastination

Pink Floyd said it best, and then one day you find ten years have got behind you. No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
Try this: 5-minute rule- if you are procrastinating on something, just work on it for 5 minutes. The hardest part of a task is getting over the hump of starting.

7/8

Complaining

Complaining may seem harmless. But over time, it trains your brain to seek out the negative side of everything.
Try this: Wear a rubber band on your wrist for a week. Every time you complain- snap it.

8/8

Waiting for perfect conditions to start

There's someone out there who is way less qualified than you, living the life you want. Simply because they took action.
Try this: Jeff Bezos's 70% rule- take action when you have 70% of the information you wish you had.
