The power of mantra chanting

In Hinduism, hymns, mantras, stotras, and chants are some of the most powerful and high-energy carrying words. Be it the simple chant of OM or the famous Kaal Bhairav Ashtakam, every mantra and stotra has an undeniable energy that cannot be replicated in any way. These sacred sounds and vibrations carry spiritual power, and when chanted with the right intention, understanding, and consistency, these mantras help shift the energy around people, inviting better and more positive things their way.

2/7

Gayatri mantra

One of the most famous mantras, the Gayatri mantra is believed to carry the energy and vibrations that are enough to uplift a whole room of people. The mantra says - ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः। तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं। भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि। धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्॥
Through this mantra, people ask the higher powers and the Gods to give them intellect and a clear vision on life, and help them bring their goals and dreams to reality. And when a person’s goals are clear, and they work towards success, wealth and abundance come in naturally.

3/7

Ganesh mantra

One of the easiest and most powerful mantras of Lord Ganesha is ‘ॐ गं गणपतये नमः॥’, which simply means ‘I bow to Lord Ganesha, the one who removes all obstacles’.
For Hindus, Lord Ganesha is the god of beginnings, wisdom, and wealth, and he is the remover of hurdles and obstacles, and thus is the first God we pray to before starting anything positive. By chanting mantras dedicated to Lord Ganesha, we open the doors to success for us, and help excel in different ways.

4/7

Devi mantra

Another famous mantra dedicated to Shakti, the female energy of the Universe, is this one. The mantra says ‘या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु विद्यारूपेण संस्थिता। नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥’ This one too means that we bow to the Goddess who resides in all of us as knowledge and are forever in service to her.
This mantra is in honour of the Divine feminine as the form of all wisdom and knowledge, and when you please the Goddess of knowledge, creativity, and more, and ask for the blessings of memory and learning, life becomes a little simpler and prosperity flows in.

5/7

Lakshmi mantra

Maa Lakshmi is the Goddess of wealth, prosperity, abundance, and more, and she bestows people with blessings of wealth. The mantra is simple and says ‘ॐ ह्रीं श्रीं लक्ष्मीभ्यो नमः॥’ The mantra simply means that we bow down to Maa Lakshmi, the one who brings wealth and prosperity.
It is like a direct request to Maa Lakshmi to bless people with a positive environment for financial success, and as ‘Shreem’ is a Beej mantra, it has immense positivity and power to change people’s lives.

6/7

Lord Kuber mantra

Lord Kuber, the treasurer of the Gods himself, and the God of safekeeping and protection of money, is also prayed to for the blessings of prosperity and wealth. The mantra people chant is ‘ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं क्लीं श्रीं क्लीं वित्तेश्वराय नमः॥’ and as this too is a Beej mantra, it becomes an intense prayer to Lord Kuber to bless the devotee with material success.
It is believed that this mantra should be chanted daily, 108 times, for best results.

7/7

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra

Dedicated to Lord Shiva, although the Mahamrityunjaya mantra helps remove fears from life, in a way, it also helps abundance and prosperity flow through people. The mantra goes ‘ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्। उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात्॥’
It is a prayer to Lord Shiva to protect the devotee from untimely death, and grant them fearlessness about what is to happen ahead. Millions of people around the world chant this mantra for health and protection, and it is believed with good health, comes a prosperous life.
