5 daily mantras every child should learn for peace and spiritual awakening

Teaching our children the sacred mantras not only introduces the beauty of devotion and mindfulness but also helps in nurturing qualities in them, such as gratitude and compassion. Om Namah Shivaya (ॐ नमः शिवाय)

The simplest mantra that anyone can chant every day. Dedicated to the supreme Lord Shiva, the one responsible for both restoration and destruction. Take this mantra as a kind of tribute to Lord Shiva. Om is the cosmic sound, the vibration of the universe, the word which created this entire world. Namah, a salutation, a way of paying homage
Shivaya, directly referred to Lord Shiva, the embodiment of supreme consciousness.
Meaning, “I bow to the divine energy of Lord Shiva.” It is an invitation for his protective and transformative energy to flow into your life.”

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya (ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाय)

It is one of the most popular Hindu mantras, central to the tradition of Vaishnavism. Known as the Dwadasakshari or ‘twelve-syllable’ mantra, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in the incarnation of Krishna. Found in the ancient Hindu text, Vishnu Purana, Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevay can be translated as “I bow to Lord Vasudeva (Lord Krishna)”.

Om Gum Ganapataye Namaha (ॐ गं गणपतये नमः)

Chanting the Ganesha mantra brings peace and happiness to one’s life. It destroys enemies from the path. It brings clarity to life and activities. One can visualize his dreams and goals better and work in the direction to achieve the set objectives. The remover of obstacles, Lord Ganesha, this mantra means “I bow to Lord Ganapati.” Teaching this to children gives them the courage to start new things with faith and confidence.

Om Sri Ramaya Namah (ॐ श्री रामाय नमः)

Om Shri Ramaya namaha is a mantra that is used to honor Lord Rama, a god and incarnation of Vishnu. Lord Rama is known by devotees as the one who rejoices and brings joy, as well as peace and justice to the world. It teaches children the value of honesty, compassion, and inner discipline. Chanting this brings mental clarity and calmness, helping kids stay focused on doing the right thing.

Om Namo Narayanaya (ॐ नमो नारायणाय)

A deeply peaceful mantra dedicated to Lord Narayana (Vishnu), it means “I offer my salutations to the Supreme Lord.” This mantra fills the heart with divine peace and teaches children the value of surrender, balance, and spiritual grace. It’s perfect for evening chants or when a child needs emotional grounding.
