Personality test: Are you intelligent, egocentric, or artistic? Here's what your sitting posture reveals about you

What your sitting posture reveals about you

Personality tests have always fascinated people because they offer insights into one's hidden traits and unconscious behaviour. While traditional tests use questions to assess one's character, modern psychology suggests that one's body language, especially sitting posture, can also reveal a lot about a person's true nature. How you sit when relaxed or unaware is often an expression of your inner mindset. For example, someone who sits cross-legged may have certain dominant traits as compare to another person who sits with both feet firmly on the ground. Even leaning forward or backward can hint at assertiveness or introversion. These subtle cues are often involuntary, making them powerful indicators of their personality. This is why many optical illusions and posture-based tests have gained much popularity these days— they combine fun and psychology to help you learn more about yourself in unexpected ways. Your natural sitting style might be saying more about you than you realize!

In a recent post on social media, Marina Winberg-- who is a Neuraleaner- Antistress expert-- shared what one's sitting posture can reveal about their hidden nature. To take this test, simply notice how you normally sit-- do you keep your knees straight, keep the knees apart, or by keeping your legs crossed? Notice your usual sitting posture and read what it tells about your true personality below:

2/4

If you sit with your knees straight

Then your key traits are: "Intelligent, rational thinkers, punctual, hardworking, cleanliness-loving, honest yet reserved. According to research from Ohio State University, these individuals possess healthy and positive self-esteem. They are known for their intellect, rationality, and punctuality in daily life, along with a remarkable ability to remain calm. This mental composure helps them notice subtle changes in their surroundings," Marina wrote in the post.

3/4

If you sit with your knees apart while sitting

Your main traits are: "Egocentric, arrogant, judgmental, short attention span, easily bored.
It has been observed that people who sit with their knees apart display egocentricity and arrogance. However, studies show completely opposite results. These individuals likely experience anxiety and restlessness. Their relentless pursuit of perfection makes them constantly worry about making mistakes. They may also lose interest quickly and walk away from relationships. These people require constant motivation from others and struggle with concentration. According to psychology, men who prefer sitting with their knees apart are described as "man-children" who need ongoing maternal care or mentorship," Marina shared.

4/4

If you sit with your legs crossed

Your key traits include: "Artistic, creative, imaginative, dreamy, defensive, or closed-off.
Research indicates that this posture is typical of people with unconventional ideas and a creative approach. You might be cautious and distrustful. This position could also mask fear or insecurity. Experts note that in work environments, people who sit with crossed legs tend to reject ideas more often, speak less, and display inattentiveness compared to those with open gestures," she explained in the post.
