Follow these tips and you will be fine

With the budget being announced today, we all know that it is high time we control our expenses. It is important to save money anyway so why not start now. If you have to live on a budget, you will be amazed by these ways in which you can save money. Here is a list that will help you in figuring a way of life

2/7

Subscriptions

We all have so many TV subscriptions today and here we mean the OTT platforms. They all come out to be very expensive at the end of the year and most of the time we watch only one or two of those platforms. To save money, best would be to subscribe to only the platforms we watch. Another way would be to pitch in with your friends for each OTT and split the subscription amount. It will save you a lot of money and make your life easier when you are living on a budget.

3/7

Food bill

Off late, thanks to the pandemic and several rules, we have all are guilty of over ordering food from outside especially when we see discounts popping up at our favourite restaurants and cafes. It is not only harming our health but also disturbing our budget. If you crave food from outside, why not recreate them in your own kitchen. The cost of dining gets worse by the day so why not do something about that? Make it once a week or two. Switch to a healthier lifestyle! You will be healthy and your pocket won’t suffer as much! Two birds with one stone!

4/7

Sale shopping

There are two things you must keep in mind when you are shopping during sale time. First should be about priorities and the other about retail therapy. Many of us go online and make use of those sales when we are not feeling good. It has become our cushion when we want to feel good about something. This way we end up buying whatever we like and waste money. Then there is prioritising what we truly need every month and buying them all when the sale comes. So why not merge the two! Make a list of what all you need and when the sales come, add all to the cart and purchase when you are feeling low and need some retail therapy.

5/7

Ditch the credit card

There are some circumstances when you need a credit card but if you want to shop for small things then ditch it and use the debit card or UPI or cash. This keeps tabs on your spendings and makes you refrain from impulse buying.

6/7

Staycation over short destination trips

This may sound illogical but to think of it, it is very much a money saver for travel lovers. If you love travelling then in these work from home days, why not shift to a new place and stay there for a month? When you book a place for such a long duration, they charge much less and you sometimes, depending on the location, pay the same amount for 30 days instead of 10-15 days. Get a place with a kitchen and do your own cooking. Book it with 2-3 friends so you can divide the expense.

7/7

Look for cheaper alternatives

It is important to cut back on certain expenses when life is dependable on a budget. Find cheaper alternatives and see what all can be dropped. Even using electricity in a smart way saves a lot of money. Instead of being dependent on technology for your leisure, why not go back to our innocent days when walking down, exploring the city on buses, using home ingredients for beauty, was a thing?!
