People with these 9 personality traits are more likely to be in unhealthy relationships

1/10

Have you been in a toxic relationship?

Relationships can get very tricky and sometimes, we fail to realise that a relationship may turn sour because of our own traits and habits. Instead of playing a blame game, maybe, analysing our own habits or thinking pattern can help to put everything on the right track. Does this notion make sense? If your answer is yes, these nine personality traits could be the reasons you are or tend to be in unhealthy relationships.

2/10

Low self-esteem

The way you treat yourself sets the standard for others. If you do not feel confident or think you do not deserve someone who loves or cares for you, you are more likely to blindly accept every situation, whether good or bad, and let it govern your relationship. Do you want such a love life?

3/10

Insecurity

If you constantly feel insecure about your relationship, partner and incessantly worry about how your life would turn out after a break-up, you are bound to disrupt your peace of mind. You might develop a tendency to concentrate only on all the negative aspects of your relationship and in turn, never feel happy from inside.

4/10

You are a people pleaser

It is good to be kind and nice to others but remember excessive of everything, including being super generous, is bad! When you care way too much for your partner or place their needs before yours, there is a high probability that they will start taking you for granted.

5/10

Being over dependent

Being dependent on your partner for every little thing surely won’t help to strengthen your relationship. In fact, you might reach a point in your so-called happy relationship where you are not independent enough to handle your life and remember, your partner won’t appreciate it!

6/10

Being self-centred always

A relationship requires both the partners to make efforts to make it work. But if you always place your personal likes, dislikes and preferences before everything else, do not adjust or appreciate the efforts your partner puts in the relationship, do you think the relationship would be able to go the distance?

7/10

You think too much!

It is okay to think about your future with your partner and stay on the same page. But brooding and stressing about it every single day would do more harm than good to your relationship. Do we really need to explain why?

8/10

You jump the gun, always

If you speak without thinking and overreact to every situation, you might be unintentionally damaging your relationship. Remember, being impulsive and impatient has done no good to anyone, ever!

9/10

When it’s the time to let go

Sometimes, we cling to a relationship despite knowing it is not working out and endure all the pain simply because we believe we won’t be happy without that person. This is where we choose to stay in an unhealthy relationship and continue to torture ourselves. One should be strong enough to take a step back and move out of the relationship when it no longer serves its purpose.

10/10

The most important thing

Until and unless you realise what are your true needs from a partner and a relationship, you are bound to stay confused and struggle to be satisfied in a relationship.
