What do different types of eye contact mean?

The eyes, chico. They never lie. And it’s true. Eyes are considered to be the best way to relay your feelings for a person. Many say, that one look is enough to know whether you’re in love or not. Eyes are one of the first things a person notices about someone, so, it makes complete sense when we say eye contact leads to an array of love affairs. Hence, based on this, we bring to you the different types of eye contact and what they really mean. You might even consider knowing what your crush feels!

2/8

Not locking eyes intentionally

This means they aren’t interested in you, at all. This sign of eye contact means that the person is consciously making an effort to avoid looking at you. This can mean that the person is least interested in you and is doing everything in their power to avoid any romantic relationship.

3/8

Non-intentional no eye-contact

In this, the other person doesn’t necessarily look at you on purpose. Maybe something else in your direction may have caught their eye. They are quite focused on that, instead of you. In fact, they’re so oblivious that they don’t even notice you staring at them!

4/8

The intentional look

In this, you might catch the other person staring at you, but they will look away if you ever catch them staring. On a positive note, this means that they are quite shy and awkward about their feelings. Hence, they get shy and look away quickly if you happen to look back at them. This further means, they have taken an interest in you.

5/8

The unintentional look

In this type of eye contact, you might find the other person looking at you but they quickly look away. This is more prone to happening with strangers because our eyes may look at many people throughout the day, without any reason. This is more like an act of the subconscious mind.

6/8

A one-second stare

For starters, this can mean that the person is pretty interested in you. In this type of eye-contact, the other person stares at you even after you look back at them, and then looks away after wee more seconds. The delay in looking away can mean that they are trying to be a tease, after leaving a lingering glance on you. This short move promises attraction.

7/8

Looking twice

This is for all the confident people out there who make sure to maintain eye contact with a person, enough to make them look twice. If the other person looks away for a second, and then again peeks back at you while you look at them, it can only mean that they’re pretty interested; mostly physically.

8/8

The genuine look

In this, people genuinely maintain eye contact with the people they are in interested in; even adding a pearly smile! This is a sign that you need to take a step and maybe go talk to that person. And sometimes, intense staring can even mean that the other person is indicating for you both to take things forward than just talking!
