Signs you are facing OBSESSIVE LOVE disorder

Being in love is different from being obsessed with someone. The latter can be scary and suffocating for the partner and it is a sign that you need therapy. However, many of us miss the symptoms and then one fine day, we realise the soup we are swimming in. So here are some of the key signs you have to keep tabs on to detect obsessive love disorder (OLD).

2/6

Obsessive thoughts

You are always thinking about him or her. No matter what you are upto, you keep wondering what the other is doing even if in the loo or simply eating meals with the parents. Obsession is when the thought of becoming a surveillance camera for them comes to your mind and you do not find that wrong.

3/6

Possessiveness

Tad bit possessiveness is fine, it is natural but when you do not like him or her sharing a few laughs even with their best friends or parents in your absence, you my dear are experiencing OLD. Them going to the market as well makes you feel jealous! Please step back!

4/6

Constant texting

If someone is experiencing OLD in your case, you will know when he or she constantly texts you, calls you, mails you etc. That constant need to be in touch is not normal.

5/6

Forgotten world

If you or someone is obsessed with a single person, he or she tends to forget everyone around them. They are unable to keep in touch with friends or family. Their regular day is not regular anymore to a fault.

6/6

Need to control

Where are you going? Who is he? Why were you talking for so long on the phone? What is the need to go to your girlfriend’s place? Why do you meet him or her so often (even if same sex and just friends)? When these questions are asked, your red flag should be up!
