Reasons why some married couples stop having sex

When a relationship begins, the marriage is brand new, the sex drive is on all time high. There is excitement to discover each other, explore the other, know more about our own bodies and well you are in that mode to experiment. However, after a few years into the marriage, couples reduce the amount of times they would get into the act and many times they just simply stop. Are you too experiencing the same? Do you know a couple that has? Here are a few reasons that could be the culprit!

2/6

Routine

Many hate routines. Life becomes like daily chores and sex is one of them. If it has become a routine that after dinner and brushing your teeth, this is something you HAVE to or are expected to do then this could be one of the key reasons.

3/6

Uninterested

In this case the excitement is gone, the lust has evaporated, there is no will for foreplay or seduction. Couples simply lose interest!

4/6

Kids & parents

Often when there are kids and parents in the house, the want for sex goes out of the window. Privacy issues come into play and gradually the want or need goes out of the window. This is when you plan vacations or couple-time to not kill the passion you share.

5/6

Birth control pills

Consult your gynae for other solutions. If you keep popping these pills, your sex drive dies. Your libido slows down and frustration grows.

6/6

Insecurity

After marriage, there is a reason why many couples hit the gym and try to keep fit. It is the insecurity of the body changes they want to avoid whether they agree out loud or not. It is very natural that your body will change, you are ageing as well! You have to accept how you look and so does your partner. If you don’t then workout!

Sex drive is driven by an individual’s state of mind. How related is your state of mind, plus love and affection among partners.
