Try these tactics to avoid unnecessary fights

When we fight a lot, it can get ugly, you start feeling detached and the relationship suffers a lot. Before having expectations from the other, you must try to resolve it from your end. So here are a few ways in which you can avoid those major fights with your husband and try to resolve them before it ruins everything.

2/6

Take a break

If you feel that this discussion is about to get heated, take a break. Leave the room, have some water, look at your plants, as this behaves like a reset button. When you enter the room again and talk to your partner, you both will find a calmer self and perhaps talk it out amicably.

3/6

Admit, own up to your mistakes

During the fight, your question should not just be about why he did that, you must ask your partner what wrong did you do that they reacted in a certain manner! Listen carefully and admit to it if it is your mistake. Owning up to your mistakes, puts many fights to rest and also clears your conscience.

4/6

Do not call it a night before resolving

All therapists and seasoned couples advise that you should never go to bed without resolving your fights. Generally when you sleep with anger and an upset mind, you tend to have a cold war and the fight goes on the next day too with either of you snapping at each other.

5/6

Hug it out

This stands not just for “brothers”, touching and hugs solve the toughest of people. Sometimes, a simple touch with affection, eases, calms down your partner. You can then talk about the issue and solve it.

6/6

Chart out a way to argue

It is not possible that a couple does not fight. If you are not fighting then your relationship is not sound for sure. But to manage these disagreements you must make a system for yourselves. Some couples develop a 15-20 minute time for that argument too. At the end of it, do remember what is best for your marriage.
