When a man flirt's with his girlfriend's best friend

Besides her parents, these are the two most important people in a woman’s life—her boyfriend and best friend. Obviously, she would want them to be friends too. But trouble brews when they get overfriendly, and the worst-case scenario is when the boyfriend flirts with her best friend. Strange but true. If you find yourself in such a situation, here’s what you need to do.

2/7

Check and recheck

Sometimes, a person has this tendency to over-react under such circumstances. If you find yourself doubting the relationship between your boyfriend and your BFF, first you need to ensure that this is not the result of your hyperactive imagination. So, check and recheck whatever evidences you have that proves you right.

3/7

Evaluate how serious is it

Once you confirm your doubts, evaluate how serious is the situation. Is it just harmless flirting or they have something serious going on? You also need to keep in mind that some amount of flirtation is healthy provided is acceptable to all the parties concerned. However, if it’s more than just friendly banter, you need to put your foot down and find a solution.

4/7

Talk to someone you trust

Discussing this with someone you trust would help you get a third person’s perspective. But before doing that you need to probe deeper and look at issues, if there are any, between you and your boyfriend. So, talk to a friend or family member and tell the person everything. Then listen carefully to what he or she has to say because the person might point out something that might have escaped your notice.

5/7

Confront them together

If you want to confront your boyfriend and BFF, it’s always wise to do that when both are present. Here are two things that will happen simultaneously—they would not get a chance to make excuses and if they are lying, you could easily detect that.

6/7

What if you are wrong?

There will always be the chances that you might be proved wrong. And if that happens, you might lose two people you love most. But in case, you are right, you would at least be away from people who are bad for your emotional and mental health. Only you can take a call. So, take your time to think over the situation before you confront them.

7/7

Whatever happens, you need to be strong

When such things happen, it takes a toll on a person’s self-confidence. There will be lots of questions that will keep you awake at night—why did he stop loving me? Am I not good enough? How could my best friend do this to me? Instead of questioning your worth, you should focus on the positive things. What if this had continued for long? What if this had happened after you were married? Look at the brighter side and try to do things that make you happy. Remember, time is the biggest healer and you would get over this soon.
