Things that lead to separation

Former Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ wife Amruta Fadnavis recently claimed that 3% divorces in Mumbai are caused by traffic jams because people stuck on the road hardly get the time to spend with their families. Time is definitely of essence but there are several other causes that can lead to separation. Here is a list of some habits, things that can lead to a divorce which can be easily avoided.

2/6

Communication

Communication is very essential when it comes to relationships, especially marriage. If you do not communicate all your issues with your spouse then it can lead to divorce or separation. Instead of taking it all for granted, talk to each other. Even while travelling from one point to another, you feel you will get late for dinner, call up your spouse or partner and let them know that you could be late.

3/6

Not taking responsibilities

Every human being has a responsibility towards their home. When it comes to running a household, all the chores must be divided equally. Even if you or your wife is a homemaker, it does not mean that you do not help out. A marriage is a partnership!

4/6

Control

When couples try to control each other and not give the other some space and room to breathe, suffocation can easily lead to a divorce. One of the partners will always feel like that bird in the cage.

5/6

Lies

This is a basic one. Lies never work for any relationship so why even indulge in them? Keep it all crystal clear atleast with your partner. White lies are fine, but anything else should not be kept under wraps especially when you know it is important for your partner.

6/6

Sexual problems

This is one of the biggest causes of separation and unhappiness in marriages. Many couples in India feel that sex becomes irrelevant after a certain age. This is a myth and you need to stop thinking that way ASAP! Also, sexual problems can be with both men and women. Go to a therapist if it is something major. If not, you feel the spark is gone, then high time that you experiment and try those different sex positions suggested all over the internet!
