Diwali 2016! Make this Diwali pet friendly

Diwali may be a time for celebrations and festivity all around, but it can be a very traumatic time for your pets. Fear of fireworks is a fairly common phobia for pets. They often find the loud noise and bright displays of light quite frightening. And if you are proud parents of adorable fur balls, here are some tips to make this Diwali pet friendly:
2/8

Keep your pet inside

Imagine the plight of dogs whose hearing ability is seven times more than us. Keep your pets indoor and also shut all doors and windows of that room. You can put some cotton in your pet's ear or you can also buy ear muffs.

Don't burst crackers near to pets

Don't fire the crackers near an animal shelter or zoo. Noise can cause fear and panic. Pollution from burning firecrackers is also harmful to their health.
4/8

Identification tag

Make sure your pet is wearing identification tags and collars with your contact information. Because in order to run away from noise pets tend to move here and there, in which they can also get lost.

Keep your firework away from their reach

Keep the crackers away from the reach of pets. It's better to keep them locked.
6/8

If needed, visit a veterinarian

In case of distress or anxiety, you can take your pet to the doctor.

Festive food can be unhealthy

Foods you love are unhealthy for your pets. Table scraps from the feast can upset their digestion so don't feed them left over festive food. Feed them before the firworks start.

Helping street dogs

Don't scare the street dogs by burning crackers near to them. You can provide them some food and water by keeping a bowl of both outside your house. You can provide them shelter by opening your basement or parking for the night.
