5 men revealed how girls misunderstood their love for lust

Misunderstanding love for lust

Nothing is as sublime as being in love and everything feels alright when you are with the right person. Now imagine this—you are in love with a girl and when you declared your undying emotions, she rejects your proposal thinking you are only interested in her for a physical relationship. Sounds familiar, right? In fact, many movies have been made on this. And being misunderstood for their intentions is nothing uncommon between people in love. Here’s what five men said about how their declaration for love was mistaken for something else!

Because she thought I was a casanova

“This happened when I was in the final year of my graduation course. I was in love with a girl from the same class and I finally gathered the courage to propose her during our college farewell. To my surprise she laughed at me and said she knew I was a guy who flirted with girls and then ditched them after having a physical relationship. Later I realised it was one of her friends who had filled her ears against me because I had once fought with her.”

Guys who stay alone are believed to have casual flings

“I was in love with one of my colleagues and one fine day I told her about my feelings. She looked very composed and replied that she is not interested in a casual fling. I was quite taken aback because I had proposed to her in the sincerest way. She did not just stop there but calmly explained that most of her friends who stayed alone (I too was staying alone at that time) wanted a girlfriend just to have a good time. I didn’t even bother to correct her but said sorry and moved on.”

Since I just had a break up, she accused me of being selfish and lustful

“This is very complicated. I had an ugly break-up with my girlfriend after being in a relationship for five years. One of her friends helped me a lot during those miserable days after the break-up and surprisingly, I fell in love with her. When I expressed my feelings, she got angry and shouted at me saying she knew everything that had happened between my ex-girlfriend and me. She also accused that I was mistaking lust for love. I failed to make her understand how emotionally attached I had grown to her within a short span of time and that we would have been perfect for each other.”

5/6

I was judged for sharing photos of a vacation on Facebook

“Funny as it may sound, but a girl had once rejected me because she mistook one of my friends to be my girlfriend by looking at some of my Facebook pictures. I had once gone on a vacation with my colleagues and had shared some pictures taken on a beach. The girl I was in love with was also on my Facebook friend list and when I proposed, she casually remarked that how could I be in love with her when I had just returned from a vacation with my girlfriend. When I tried to explain that I was with a colleague, she sarcastically commented that pictures speak a thousand words!”

Since I once had a one-night stand, I was judged as a guy looking for fun

“I was in love with my best friend with whom I used to share everything. I had even told her about a one-night stand I had during a vacation. Years later when I proposed her, she told that I was only interested in a no-strings-attached relationship. She further said that she knew me better and I should listen to her. I was speechless. That day I not only lost the person I was in love with but also ended my ties with a dear friend.”
