No daughter should keep these SECRETS from her mother!

Girls, don't keep these secrets from your mother

All parents try their best to give their daughters a privileged and safe upbringing. Given the circumstances that we have these days where crime against women is not unusual, parents become extra cautious when it comes to their daughter’s safety. While they want their daughter to have a happy and safe life, it also the girl’s responsibility to ensure her own safety and happiness. Here are a few things that every daughter should let her mother know because keeping these a secret might land her in trouble.

2/6

Sexual abuse

A girl should always inform her mother if she becomes a victim of sexual abuse. We all know how sexual predators might force a girl to keep it a secret and might resort to any means—be it blackmailing or threat—to prevent her from informing a third person. If she keeps it a secret, the person would only take advantage of the situation. The first thing she should do is to inform her mother.

3/6

When she is stuck in a bad marriage or faces domestic violence

Everyone wants a perfect married life but unfortunately, not all are blessed with one. A lot of time, a girl might realise her life partner is not the right person for her or she might become victim of domestic violence. She might try her best to make things work and spend sleepless nights fearing about her future. Instead of worrying about her life, she should let her mother know. Together they can approach the authorities if it’s a case of domestic violence or take the necessary step to resolve her marital problem.

4/6

Staying out late with friends or boyfriend

With the alarming rate of crime against women across the country, it’s very important that a girl should let her mother know about her whereabouts whenever she plans to stay out late with her friends or a boyfriend. No matter how well-prepared or protected a girl might be, no one will take care of her like her mother during adversities.

5/6

If she gets pregnant out of wedlock

When we are in love, we sometimes commit mistakes that can have an unimaginable impact on our life. Getting pregnant out of wedlock, whether intentional or unintentional, can be a very difficult phase in a girl’s life. If she is an adult, she can, of course, take a call on the baby’s future but unfortunately, many girls may decide otherwise and terminate her pregnancy. This is not only unethical but can be life-threatening. No matter how difficult it might be, a girl should always let her mother know about such situations.

6/6

If someone is blackmailing her

It’s not easy for victims of blackmailing to break free from the clutches of the blackmailer. And given the easy access to the digital world that everyone has these days, it’s not difficult for people with wrong intentions to get hold of someone’s personal information or pictures. If a girl becomes a victim of such blackmailing, she should immediately inform her mother.
