Negative thoughts and feelings to avoid after pregnancy loss

Thoughts to avoid after having a miscarriage

Pregnancy loss is pretty common among women. But because it's less-spoken about, it remains to be a taboo in our society. Recently, many celebrities have opened up and talked about their experiences with miscarriage, bringing it to people's attention and normalizing other issues associated with it, including poor mental health.

Given that women are either ashamed to talk about their pregnancy loss or are worried about what others might think of them, there's less talk, more speculation around the subject. That said, if you're someone or know someone who has dealt with a miscarriage, here are somethings, thoughts and feelings that you must avoid.

2/6

The feeling of being alone

A feeling of emptiness is the first thing that ever strikes a woman who loses her child even before it's born. Given the dreams, the hope and the aspirations tied to the unborn child, it is but heart-wrenching for a woman, when she loses the child in the belly. That said, pregnancy loss does not mean that your world is over. You will be blessed with other opportunities and a chance to live all your dreams. Giving up will only discourage you to live your life to the fullest and you will remain heart broken. Take your time and grief, but never think you're alone.

3/6

Blaming it all on yourself

Miscarriage occur naturally or by accidents. However, both these occurrences are not intentional. No mother would want their child to perish. If you had a miscarriage and believe it to be your fault, then you're absolutely wrong. Different women have different bodies. While some have the ability to move forward, others just need more time. Do not blame yourself for what happened. Make it a point to rise above it and plan efficiently.

4/6

Worrying about what people will say

People always talk. No matter what you do. Whether you don't have a child or bear one, they will say what they have to. However, following a miscarriage, there's no one that matters more than you. Your mental health and your physical well-being is what should be prioritized at all costs. Do not worry about what people will say. Rather speak to your loved ones and convey what you're feeling. Only then will you be able to move on.

5/6

Ignoring your physical needs

There are many women, who bear the pain of losing an unborn child and keep it a secret. For the fear of being detected or to stay distracted, some even go about doing their duties immediately after a miscarriage. Besides being dangerous, this can have a serious impact on a woman's body and her mental health. At times, women are so overwhelmed that they focus more on their emotions than their recovery.

6/6

Neglecting self care can be harmful

All in all, women having experienced a miscarriage should focus on self-care and must avoid thoughts that are demoralizing and harmful. Both physical and mental health should be prioritized and recovery should be the primary focus. Do not let negative thoughts cloud your mind. Be hopeful and let fate play its part.
