Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner spark divorce rumors; here's what they've said about parenting two kids

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are all over the news following reports of their separation. As per reports, the couple has been having some “serious problems” in their marriage for at least 6 months. Joe had his people contact and consult with at least 2 L.A.-area divorce lawyers, sources with direct knowledge told TMZ, adding “he is on the cusp of filing divorce docs to end his marriage to Sophie.”

A lot has happened for Joe and Sophie in the last 4 years. The singer and actor were first linked up in 2016 and they got engaged a year later. The duo got married in 2019 and quickly welcomed their first daughter Willa, in 2020, followed by her little sister in 2022. The parents are private when it comes to the lives of their children. The name of their younger daughter is yet to be revealed.

TMZ reported that over the last 3 months, Joe has been caring for their 2 young children "pretty much all of the time," even as his band was touring. Joe currently has both kids, as the group plays around the U.S.

Turner shared in an interview with Elle UK, "I know what it can do to your mental health to be in this industry, and to be photographed every day and have the comments. It's not something I want her to deal with unless she says, 'This is what I want to do.' We're quite strict about that. We'll encourage her to do whatever she wants but I don't think we would professionally let her do anything until she's 18. I also feel quite strongly about my daughter not becoming a nepotism child."

Turner shared that being a mom to Willa has made her a better actor. The Game of Thrones star said on The Wrap's UnWrapped podcast that becoming a mother has given her a "different perspective" on her roles and has made her a "much more emotional person."

"The empathy is heightened; the feelings about family are just like overflowing," she said. "It's made me a better actor for becoming, you know, becoming a mother."

After the birth of his second daughter in 2022, Jonas spoke to People Magazine about balancing his career while being a father to his then-newborn baby.

"It's an adjustment period," he shared. "Just something that I'm learning as I go, I think I can now work a little bit harder to take time off. I'm still trying to figure it out. Some weeks are a little bit more challenging than others, but it makes it a lot easier when you enjoy your gig … I wake up every day just thrilled to be able to go make music or act and create different projects and have a beautiful family, so it feels like a dream come true."
