Dog breeds that (almost) never bite kids

For families with children, finding a suitable dog breed can be a lifesaver. All dogs have the potential to bite, but various factors influence biting, and it’s clear that some breeds are generally more tolerant, gentle, and affectionate around kids. “Kid-friendly” dogs are those that are generally quite tolerant, affectionate, and protective without being aggressive, as they are often called. Here are five dog breeds that are least likely to bite a child, making them a favorite among families.

1. Golden Retriever

Golden Retriever is extremely gentle and affectionate with a natural knack for being the best family pet. They can be very understanding when the little ones are exuberant with their crude tugs and loud play. Extremely intelligent with a natural aptitude for learning easily, they are social creatures and very easily develop a strong bonding with the young ones, even becoming their protectors and playmates.

2. Labradors

Labradors are fun-loving, affectionate, and remarkably obedient; these traits make them perfect for households with kids. The gentle nature of Labs, combined with their eagerness to please, makes it less likely for them to exhibit aggressiveness. Energetic but not violent, Labradors adjust to a busy home filled with plenty of kids with adequate training.

3. Beagle

Beagles are friendly, inquisitive, and get along with children. Beagles are pack animals and, therefore, like to be around people and are not usually found to be aggressive. Their moderate size and inquisitive nature make them perfect playmates for children. Beagles are usually very tolerant and gentle.

4. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This breed of dog is known for having a loving and gentle nature. These are gentle dogs that love to cuddle as much as they love to play with children. These dogs are very less aggressive and have a gentle nature that helps them get along well with children of all ages.

5. Newfoundland

Although they are so large, they are famously known as “nanny dogs.” They have the qualities of being so gentle, protective, and patient around children. The natural instinct that they have, which is the tendency to guard children, coupled with their calm nature, makes them one among the safest dog breeds around children.
