American drama series 'All the Light We Cannot See', streaming as a miniseries on Netflix, is based on Anthony Doerr's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The miniseries, which already has received several positive reviews, stars Aria Mia Loberti, Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie as main characters Marie-Laure LeBlanc, Daniel LeBlanc and Etienne LeBlanc, respectively. Marie, a blind teenage French girl plays an important part in the series. Here are a few things you can learn from her life.

2/6

Courage

Despite her blindness, Marie shows remarkable courage in navigating a world filled with danger and uncertainty. She faces her fears head-on, and her bravery is a source of strength. The scene where she lies still underwater and attacks Reinhold von Rumpel, an SS officer with a stone in her hand, shows her bravery and presence of mind.

3/6

Quest for knowledge

Marie's love for books and her ability to learn, even in difficult circumstances, highlight the importance of education and knowledge in overcoming obstacles. Throughout the novel, Marie uses her quest for knowledge, intelligence, and resourcefulness to solve problems and protect herself and those she cares about.

4/6

Resilience

Marie faces numerous challenges and hardships, including blindness and the turmoil of World War II. Her resilience and determination to adapt and overcome adversity serve as an inspiring example.

5/6

Compassion

Marie's kindness and compassion for others, including her father, Madame Manec, and Werner, demonstrate the value of empathy and caring for those in need. Marie's close friendship with Madame Manec and her bond with Werner underscore the importance of human connections and the support they can provide during challenging times.

6/6

She never gives up on hope

Despite the darkness of war and the challenges she faces, Marie continues to hold onto hope, which serves as a beacon of light in the story. Her hopefulness teaches us that even in the most difficult circumstances, optimism can be a source of strength. Marie's ability to adapt to new situations and environments is a valuable lesson in how flexibility can help us navigate life's changes.
