Tips to make your kids’ pearly whites sparkle forever

Many parents struggle to determine how often their children require dental treatment. As parents, we are responsible for ensuring the health of our children's teeth. Our kids will suffer greatly if we choose to ignore this issue now. Parents want to protect their children's teeth from decay, but they may not know how. Here are some rules parents can follow to prevent their child's teeth from damaging.

2/6

Brushing twice every day

Make sure your kids know to brush their teeth twice a day. When you brush your teeth right after you get up and again before night, you can keep germs from settling into the crevices of your teeth and causing problems. Having a regular schedule will make it easier for them to keep up with their oral hygiene routine.

3/6

Flossing

To remove food debris from between the teeth, flossing is just as essential as brushing. It helps in getting rid of food particles stuck in the crevices of your teeth and underneath your gums.

4/6

Limit candy consumption

Eating a lot of sugary snacks may raise the risk of developing cavities. These foods contain a lot of sugar and starch and can be harmful to tooth enamel because they react with plaque to produce acid, which can cause damage. Make sure your kids steer clear of foods and drinks that are high in sugar, such as sweets and sugary beverages.

5/6

Examine their brushing

"Toothbrushes on teeth can be a magnet for kids who don't like brushing, who may just stand there staring at them. Check that they are brushing thoroughly, starting at the rear of their mouth and moving forward in gentle circles to cover the top, sides, and back of each tooth," says Dr. Namrata Rupani, dental expert, Founder, Capture Life Dental Care

Regular visits to the dentist
