5 Weekend chores you can easily finish during the week with smart planning

Weekends should be for chilling with family, Netflix binges, or balcony chai, not buried in chores that steal your joy.

We have all been there, scrubbing floors on Saturday morning after a long week, feeling robbed of rest. But with smart planning and smart tips, if we dedicate 10-15 mins to our daily chores every day, Sundays and Saturdays become sacred free time.

Here are some of the daily chores that we can divide and do during the week

2/6

Plan laundry ahead

Sort clothes by colour/type Monday night: whites, darks, delicates. Wash one load Tuesday after work, another Thursday. Dry and fold the same day in 15 mins. So you will not have a weekend mountain of clothes staring at you. Use dryer sheets for freshness; air-dry balcony-style in good weather.

3/6

Meal prep midweek

Shop lightly on Sunday evening. Chop veggies and cook grains like rice on Tuesday or Wednesday; they'll last 3-4 days. Put portions in boxes: dal, rice, sabzi, all ready to go. Freeze any extras. Grill chicken or paneer on Thursday. No more daily cooking stress. Change up recipes so you don't get bored. Your fridge stays neat, and weekends are just for fun brunches.

4/6

Quick daily cleans

Wipe kitchen counters and stove post-dinner, 5 mins nightly. For Bathroom sink/toilet spray-rinse mornings. Vacuum high-traffic spots on Wednesday. Empty bins daily. Dust shelves on Friday. Spots stay fresh, with no deep Saturday scrub required.

5/6

Grocery and errands

Make a shopping list on your phone on Monday night. Order groceries online on Tuesday for delivery. Do a quick Thursday market trip just for fresh stuff like veggies. Buy pantry basics (rice, dal) once a month. Pick outfits Sunday evening for the whole week. Pay all bills together on Friday. No more weekend rush!

6/6

Reset spaces weekly

Clear your desk every Friday, file papers and toss junk. Wash bed sheets on Wednesday. Wipe the fridge and check for expired food on Thursday. Spot-mop floors every day. On Sundays, do a quick 10-minute check: put shoes away and fluff pillows. A tidy home makes the weekend relaxing. Get the family involved for team wins. It'll feel easy in no time.
