Yoga poses that can help reverse hair problems

Yoga has been a popular form of exercise for thousands of years, not just for its physical benefits, but also for its mental and emotional benefits. In addition to improving flexibility, strength, and balance, practicing yoga can also help with a variety of health issues, including hair problems. Here are five yoga poses that can help fight hair problems.

2/6

Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog Pose)

Himalayan Siddhaa Akshar, yoga guru, founder, Akshar Yoga Institutions says, “Adho Mukha Svanasana is an excellent pose to help with hair problems as it increases blood flow to the scalp. By increasing blood flow to the scalp, this pose helps to nourish hair follicles, which can promote hair growth and reduce hair loss. To perform this pose, start on your hands and knees, with your hands slightly in front of your shoulders. Exhale and lift your knees away from the floor, keeping them slightly bent. Lengthen your tailbone away from your pelvis and press your heels toward the floor. Hold this pose for 30 seconds to a minute, breathing deeply.”

3/6

Sasangasana (Rabbit Pose)

Sasangasana, or rabbit pose, is a forward bend that helps to increase blood flow to the scalp. This pose helps to nourish hair follicles, which can promote hair growth and reduce hair loss. To perform this pose, start on your knees and reach back to grab your heels. Tuck your chin to your chest and slowly lower your forehead towards the floor. Hold this pose for 30 seconds to a minute, breathing deeply.

4/6

Uttanasana (Standing Forward Bend Pose)

Uttanasana is a forward bend that helps to reduce stress, which can contribute to hair loss. Stress is a leading cause of hair loss as it can cause hormonal imbalances that lead to hair loss. By reducing stress, this pose can help to promote hair growth. To perform this pose, stand with your feet hip-width apart and fold forward, reaching for your toes or ankles. Keep your knees slightly bent and hold this pose for 30 seconds to a minute.

5/6

Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose)

Vajrasana is a kneeling pose that helps to improve digestion, which can contribute to hair health. By improving digestion, this pose can help to increase the absorption of nutrients that are essential for healthy hair growth. To perform this pose, kneel on the floor with your legs and feet together. Sit on your heels and keep your back straight. Hold this pose for 5 to 10 minutes, breathing deeply.

6/6

Sirsasana (Headstand Pose)

According to Akshar, “Sirsasana, or headstand pose, is an advanced pose that can help with hair problems by increasing blood flow to the scalp. This pose helps to nourish hair follicles, which can promote hair growth and reduce hair loss. To perform this pose, start in a kneeling position and place your forearms on the floor. Interlace your fingers and place the crown of your head on the floor. Walk your feet in towards your head and lift your hips up. Hold this pose for 30 seconds to a minute, breathing deeply.”

In conclusion, these five yoga poses can help to improve hair health by increasing blood flow to the scalp, reducing stress, improving digestion, and promoting hair growth. Incorporating these poses into your regular yoga practice can help to promote healthy hair and reduce hair problems.
