Common vacation mistakes you should avoid making

Common vacation mistakes you should avoid making

Vacations are the times when the morning sun hits your face in a lesser known landscape, when you can afford to endlessly stare in the space listening to your favourite music or when the rush of taxis and hawkers leave you exhilarated and not exhausted. But you could be sabotaging yourself from the real experience that you deserve if you are guilty of making these common mistakes.
2/7

Over sharing on social media

It's better you consume the beautiful surroundings of your holiday destination than worry too much about clicking pictures for your social profile. It feels good to go through holiday pictures but in that quest we sometimes forget to enjoy the beauty of the moment. Also, resist the urge of wanting to know everything that's happening on social media.
3/7

Making it a work-vacation

Guilty of checking your office mails to know what's happening at work front? Some of you also commit the ultimate sin of not only reading official mails but also including yourself in the chain of events by replying to mails. This anxiety can ruin your holiday mood, without you even realising. Remember, if you don't take your 'break' time seriously, no one will!
4/7

Indulging in unhealthy snacking

It's holiday time but that doesn't mean you gorge on everything unhealthy that comes your way. While enjoying local cuisines, make sure you snack on enough fibrous foods to get your digestive system going. And for that, don't forget that plate of salad with your meal. Add probiotics to the list of must haves too.
5/7

Not drinking enough fluids

Whatever the weather, your body needs fluids to function properly. And by fluids we don't necessarily mean that you drink only water but you can also keep yourself hydrated with lemon water, buttermilk, coconut water or freshly squeezed fruit juices.
6/7

Not getting enough sleep

A rested body is of prime importance, anywhere you go! If you are not sleeping enough, your body will begin to tire and you won't be able to enjoy your vacation the way you must. Less sleep starts to impact your brain activity too so make up for all the lost hours. And it goes without saying, avoid oversleeping too!
7/7

Venture out

There have been multiple studies that prove being outside amidst nature helps soothe your mind and improves your mental ability. So instead of staying locked in the room gulping down glasses of beers/wines and watching TV after taking the occasional dip in the resort/hotel pool, see what your choice of destination can offer you in terms of new experiences. Go out and feel the place, literally. Make it an experience for the soul!
