Man shares his reverse-aging secrets

Almost no one wants to look old with wrinkles and feel old with the inability to walk. Age is one of the biggest factors of dwindling health and youthful appearance. However, some people are able to defeat the signs of aging, thanks to their lifestyle secrets.

Bachelor Robert Eddison from London is 89 years old. However, the man looks 20 years younger and is still quite active. Here is a peek into his daily, simple routines that help him look youthful and maintain a good shape.

People can't believe his age!

People can’t believe Robert is almost 90-years-old. Many joke that he must be lying about his age. He said, "Every time I go out, people tell me I must be in my 70s or 60s. They even accuse me of lying to them.”

Here are 4 lifestyle practices in his daily routine.

Stretching exercises

Since his thirties, Robert has been doing simple stretching exercises every single day.

The routine started when Robert was having back problems and he went to an osteopath. He said, "My back was so bad it skewed to the right.”

The doctor recommended two to four minute stretches to do after waking up, and Robert found them to be incredible.

Yoga session

After waking up, he does his daily stretching exercises, followed by a 30-minute yoga or swimming session. He also practices balancing exercises, in which he stands on one leg for a few minutes as often as he can. Working on his balance has helped him to never need a walking stick. He added, "If you use a stick, you become dependent on it and you lose the ability to walk without one.”

Countless studies suggest that exercise like yoga is a key pillar for longevity.

Keeping yourself busy

Robert believes it is important to keep oneself occupied to live a long and active life. He is a writer and still works at the age 89.

"I have no time to die before 100 because I have a ten-year master plan, if you are living to do something you will live longer," he said.

Robert added, "Healthy diet, regular exercise and positive thinking. I rate all three as equally important.
