Ash Gourd belongs to the pumpkin family and just like other fruits of this family, Ash Gourd is rich in water content. It comprises of 96 per cent water and is high in fiber.

100-gram of raw ash gourd contains:

Calories: 13

Protein: less than 1 gram

Carbs: 3 grams

Fiber: 3 grams

Fat: less than 1 gram

The fruit also contains a small amount of iron, magnesium, phosphorus, copper, and manganese.

Due to low fiber and high water content, Ash Gourd may help improve your digestion and help to lose weight effectively. It also a rich source of soluble fiber, which decreases the digestion process and makes you feel fuller for a longer period of time.

​How to make Ash Gourd juice for weight loss

Peel off the skin of the fruit and cut it into small chunks. Do not forget to remove all the seeds of the fruit. Add the small slices of Ash Gourd in a mixer or blender and blend till smooth. Take a clean cotton cloth and strain the mixture to separate the pulp and the juice. You can add a dash of lemon juice and/or 2-3 mint leaves in the juice for flavour.

Drink this juice every morning on an empty stomach for effective results.
