Home-style Cheeni ke Parathe

The winter season is all about warm delights. And one dish that many 90s kids have grown up eating is piping hot Cheeni ke Parathe. The thick sugar syrup oozing out of the paratha with a hint of salt and kick of pepper is pure nostalgia. Let us relive those memories with this simple and easy recipe.

Ingredients



1 cup whole wheat flour, 2–3 tbsp sugar, 1–2 tsp ghee, a pinch of salt, a pinch of black pepper, and water

Step 1



First of all, sieve wheat flour in a bowl and add salt to it.

Gradually add water to knead a soft dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Now, divide the dough into equal portions and roll into balls.

Next, fill each ball with sugar and a pinch of black pepper. Seal the dough and roll into small, thick rotis.

Step 5



Heat a tawa and cook the rotis on medium heat until bubbles appear. Apply ghee on both sides and cook until golden and crisp.

Serve hot with milk or with pickle. Enjoy!
