When we talk about the regional foods of India, every state has a lot to offer. Here the food changes every few miles and the regional food particularly is full of surprises. Recently, the US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, visited Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi, along with three of his colleagues, who explained the dishes to him, and he had a scrumptious time enjoying regional food.

In a tweet, he mentioned, “From the bustling streets of LA to the colorful lanes of Delhi, my love of great food continues. I'm at Maharashtra Bhawan, eager to explore the fascinating flavors of India. Join me on this journey as I sample the essence of India, one state at a time. Where should I go next? #AmbExploresIndia”


As per the video, he began his meal with Kokum Sherbet. Next, he has Vada Pav, which he calls a "Mumbai slider." He also tried some Sabudana (sago) Khichdi. For the main course, he had Bharli Vangi (a stuffed brinjal dish) with Bhakri, and Saoji Mutton Curry.

He also had Aamras and reacted, "It is like being able to have dessert in the middle of your meal." He also sipped Sol Kadhi and enjoyed Puran Poli dipped in milk.

In the post, he called the meal "incredible" and joked that his fourth course would be a nap. For him, Saoji Mutton Curry was "amazing".
