How to peel pomegranate at home?

As much as it is becoming important to eat healthy, our lifestyles have made us believe that there is never enough time to do anything properly. But with whatever time we can get on our hands, spending all of that on trying to figure out how to peel a fruit is not how anyone would like to start their day with. We all would agree that even though it is one of the most delicious fruits out there, peeling a pomegranate is too much work. That is one of the biggest reasons why most of us choose to avoid it and pick up a banana or an orange instead.

Health benefits of pomegranate

Did you know that pomegranate means an apple with a lot of seeds? Besides that, it is also a hub of various nutrients like potassium, fibre, protein, vitamin C, vitamin K and folate. It is also a rich antioxidant and is known to prevent breast cancer in women. Imagine leaving these benefits just because peeling this magic fruit is messy! There is nothing to worry about as we have not one but 2 different ways that you can learn to peel a pomegranate properly and can enjoy it every day!

Method #1

First thing to remember is that pomegranate juice can stain your clothes forever, so it will be a good idea to keep the juice of the seeds away from your clothes. Start with placing the pomegranate on a chopping board and cut the top of it. Once you remove the top, the fruit reveals it’s dissections to you. Now carefully make cuts on the outside of the peel along with the same lines as the dissections. Remove the outer skin carefully and now you can successfully separate the seeds from the pomegranate.

Method # 2

This method is comparatively easier. Just cut off the top and the bottom of the pomegranate and make a slight cut around it. Do not cut it through; you just need an outline on the outer skin. Now apply some pressure on separating it into two halves. Once done, separate the seeds and enjoy!

Takeaway

Now that you have learned to successfully peel a pomegranate, you can inculcate it in your diets more. You can make a fresh glass of pomegranate juice with your breakfast or just having pomegranate seeds along with some beetroot before your workout can help in relieving and preventing sore muscles. And who doesn’t love healthy haemoglobin levels?
