Bhindi Masala

Bored of mixed veg, try this dhaba-style Bhindi masala recipe, which can be made by heating oil in a pan and adding cumin seeds, chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Saute the masala along with sliced bhindi and spices like turmeric, red chili powder, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and salt as needed. Cook until the okra is tender and cooked through. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with roti or rice.

Chicken Tikka

Dhaba-style Chicken Tikka is a spicy and smoky tikka made by marinating chicken pieces in a mixture of yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste along with spices like red chili powder, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and salt. Grill it to perfection and serve hot with coriander leaves, lemon slices and onion.

Matar Paneer


Another popular dhaba-style dish is a tasty Matar Paneer served with jeera rice or roti. This creamy, spice rich paneer dish is made by sauteing cumin seeds, chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste in oil or ghee, followed by pureed tomatoes, green peas, paneer cubes, and spices like turmeric, cumin, garam masala, and salt as needed. Lastly, add cream and garnish with coriander leaves.

Tawa Paneer

Creamy, spicy and yummy, this simple paneer recipe made on a tawa is a classic desi dish, which will remind you of your dhaba indulgence. This easy dish can be made on a tawa by cooking paneer cubes with mixed veggies, onions, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, herbs and spices like turmeric, red chili powder, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and salt as needed.

Anda Bhurji

To make this spicy and delicious dhaba recipe, take a kadhai and add oil in a pan, add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and spices like turmeric, cumin, and red chili powder. Cook the masala nicely and then add in beaten eggs and cook them well, add some fresh cream and butter to give a desi touch. Serve hot with tandoori roti or naan.
