Netizens baffled over ‘Aag wali chutney’ and call it toxic

Indians are absolutely obsessed with the smokey and charred tandoori style of cooking, and this love is reflected in all types of food fusions like Tandoori Chai, Tandoori Maggi or even Tandoori chutney, which has recently taken the internet by storm for its way of preparation and health concerns related to it. Here’s an insight about the viral ‘Aag wali chutney’, which left netizens baffled.

Since ages, chutneys have been a quintessential part of the Indian cuisine so much so that Indian meals incomplete without this condiment. But recently a viral video from Jammu literally twisted the love for chutneys by adding a smoky punch. Here’s what left netizens baffled!

​The viral video​


The viral video was posted by an Instagram based food blogger @thatdelhifoodie, which garnered over 2152 likes and hundreds of comments. In the video a vendor is seen pouring mustard oil on two huge blocks of hot coal followed by lighting them up with a matchstick. Once the coal catches fire, the vendor drops these fire coals to the container filled with green chutney and gives it a nice stir. While this stunt grabbed attention, the effect of adding burnt coal was a concern for most netizens, which left them furious and baffled!

​​Here’s how netizens reacted to it​


There’s no denying that the spicy and smoky chutney may be blissful for the palate, but at the same time netizens raised concerns and called it toxic and carcinogenic.

While one user commented “cancerous toxic food” another user called it “Cancer chutney. Lastly, one of the users also called it “Smoky chutney carbon maarkar.”
