What is an elevenses breakfast

According to experts, elevenses is a light mid-morning snack or break, typically taken around 11 a.m., hence the name. The term is most commonly associated with British culture, where it often involves tea or coffee along with something small to eat, like biscuits, toast, or a sandwich. It is said to be not a full meal, just a quick pause between breakfast and lunch to recharge. The word also gained pop culture recognition through The Lord of the Rings.

According to Katrina's video interviews, she loves to have a very thin slice of bread with mashed avocado on top, which is typically an Avocado Toast or Avocado Sandwich and can be quickly made at home. Here's how you can make it at home.

Avocado Toast recipe

Ingredients: 2 sourdough slices of bread, 1 ripe avocado, 1–2 tsp lemon juice, salt and black pepper to taste, and 1–2 tsp olive oil
Method: Toast the bread until golden and crisp. Meanwhile, mash the avocado in a bowl with lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Keep it slightly chunky. Now, gently spread it over the toast and finish with a drizzle of olive oil. To add more flavour, one can add chili flakes or paprika for heat, sliced tomatoes or cucumber for freshness, and a poached or fried egg for extra protein. Add toppings as per choice.
