​​Quick and easy Sattu recipes to try at home​


Sattu has been a quintessential part of the eastern cuisine, especially the Bihari cuisine. Loaded with the goodness of protein and minerals, this healthy nutritious food is made using Bengal gram (chickpea) flour, which is not just healthy, but also provides satiety and curbs hunger pangs. So, here are a few innovative recipes, which can be made using Sattu.

​​Sattu Laddu​


To make these healthy and tasty laddus, take a bowl and mix sattu powder with powdered jaggery, roasted nuts, almonds, cashews, and pistachios and a pinch of cardamom powder. Add a little ghee to bind the mixture together and shape it into small, bite-sized laddus. These nutritious and naturally sweet sattu laddus make for a healthy dessert or snack option.

​​Sattu Paratha​


To make this delicious paratha recipe, wash and chop the veggies like onions, green chilies, coriander leaves and spices like roasted cumin powder and red chili powder, knead them with sattu powder and salt. Make parathas by extracting the dough balls, roll them using a rolling pin followed by cooking them by flipping sides. Serve these parathas with curd or pickle to enjoy.

​​Sattu Sherbet​


To make this refreshing summer drink, take a blender, combine sattu powder, chilled water, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Blend until well mixed and frothy. Pour the sattu drink into the glasses and garnish with mint leaves.

To make this delicious dish Halwa, add ghee to a pan followed by sattu, roast this mixture till it turns slightly golden. Then add in sugar, cardamom powder along with some water, cook the halwa and enjoy.
